    OUR STORY

Preceptor music is the brainchild of award-winning songwriter, composer and producer,  Joe Carrier.  Joe has carefully selected a group of new composers who, under his direction, have proven they can produce creative, fresh music that will support and enhance media projects in a way that is sure to please and impress you, your clients and your audience.

The idea of creating a stable of composers working for one company isn’t new. but what makes preceptor different is that these highly-educated young composers have been screened and chosen for their talent, technical skills and work ethic, by preceptor president and CEO,  Joe Carrier.  Joe’s career in the music industry spans 35 years, covering a broad range of music, from writing top-ten songs to scoring commercials and films. under his supervision, preceptor composers receive one-to-one guidance for every project.

In this way, preceptor combines Joe’s ability to harness the creativity, skill and enthusiasm of these undiscovered composers, with a talent level you would expect to see only in more veteran, and frankly, more expensive composers. This truly unique formula makes preceptor an ideal way to tap into musical ideas that will add brilliance to your work.

    Joe Carrier

Joe’s track record is, of course, much longer, having worked as a composer, producer and multi-keyboardist for more than 3 decades. His credits include the Billboard Top 10 smash hit “Stay The Same” by Joey McIntyre (RIAA Certified Gold), Billboard Top 20 (USA) and #1 International hit “If You Were Mine” by Marcos Hernandez, as well as International first place “Cine Golden Eagle Award” for music scored to the film “Love One Another.” His music has appeared on such shows as “American Idol,” “South Beach,” “Durham County,” “Entertainment Tonight,” Nickelodeon’s “All That,” “On-Air With Ryan Seacrest” and many others.

As mentor to this group, Joe accepts only musicians who are, of course, wildly talented, but who also demonstrate that they are conscientious about time and money, are easy to work with, and are good listeners. These characteristics are critical when working with Creative Directors, film and television producers as they go through the process of concept to finished product.
